Enjoy Every Day

Hello and happy Friday! It's almost the weekend and we have plans to spend it at the beach. Nothing like getting a warm beach day in the middle of March right?! We certainly are lucky.

I've been super busy doing this and that but I finally made time to play in Virginia's watercolor challenge. This is her first challenge and I'm so happy she started it. I love her work, it's always fun to stop by her blog. She even posts eye candy a la Ryan Gosling every now and then.

This first challenge is watercolor. I used 110 lb cardstock from JoAnn's, it seems to really hold up well. I smooshed Squeezed Lemonaide and Peacock Feather Distressed Inks onto my acrylic block and then picked up the colors with a water pen and just swept if over my paper.

The butterfly is from Cricut. I used the negative to cut another butterfly from a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf cup cozie-great way to upcycle and cheaper than buying corrugated paper. I have coffee and tea drinking friends save them for me.

I wrapped Caribbean twine (from the Twinery) around the middle of the butterfly and only adhered it in the middle as well. So the wings "flutter". The sentiment is from DCWV Vintage Collector and is stamped in Peacock Feathers as well. A few gold sequins from JoAnn's and tada!

Check out Virginia's View Challenge blog for more on the challenge, techniques and some really awesome entries. Have an amazing weekend!

Shabby Chic Easter

Happy Friday! We've been super busy here, how about you? I've been trying to get ahead on holidays so today I have an Easter card to share with you.

I used Crate Papers Little Bo Peep collection...love the patterns. This pretty bunny is from Cricut's Give a Hoot cartridge. I added glitter glue to the white scroll-flourishy area. The tag is also cut from a Cricut cartridge.

I faux stitched around the tag and the lattice punch is Martha (love it!). A little May Arts jute twine and button from my statsh, oh and "Happy Easter" sentiment from Avery Elle All Occasion Tags.

Thankfully Easter is in April this year and I don't have to share my birthday with it. Love when that works out. I'm linking this up with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Tag It and Inspired by Stamping Card and Tag Challenge.

Hope you have an awesome weekend!

Best Day of the Year

Happy Saturday! We've finally got rain, whoo hoo! Its been fun, my little Sophie's been stomping around in her rain boots, happily looking for puddles. We love the rain!

Today I've got another card made from the Studio Calico kit I got last year. There is so much fun going on in this little card. I'm calling it my "Social Media" birthday card.

I received an add-on kit (Earl Grey I believe) which included some journaling cards. I just cut them down to squares and used my corner punch to round off where I cut.

Everything on this card was from the kit. I added a bit of glitter glue to those little stars for some sparkle.
