Being Thankful

Hello crafty friends! Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. I just wanted to stop by and remind everyone (and myself) to stop everyday and be thankful for something-anything in your life.

I know I am truly blessed to have the love that I get daily from my Sophie and DH. I am thankful for the friends I have had since junior high and the friends I have made most recently and online. I am grateful the sun shines (super bright here in CA) and I have all the things I need.

I've decided to not post any cards in December, I've been pretty behind anyway. Instead I'm going to try and bring you all some inspiration or as I'm going to call it Creative Candy. Just random things to help inspire.

This is totally modeled after the "It's a Moxie Fab World" posts which Cath used to post daily. I don't know about you, but I really miss those.  So starting December 1, and hopefully everyday for the month of December, look for my Creative Candy posts and use it as it inspires you.

Warm hugs this holiday season!

Happy Hanukkah Card

Happy Friday! I was going thru my stamps looking for my Christmas ones when I came across this set 8 Happy Nights from CAS-Friday's Stamps. I won it last year, inked it up a bit and then put it away. So I decided to ink it up again and this is what I came up with.

I stamped the entire background and love the way it turned out. I then used the Mojo Monday Sketch #318 (again) and added the tag, ribbon, stamped dreidels. It needed something more so I also added the "Happy Hanukkah".

The dreidels are stamped on metallic shiny silver cardstock. It's really cool, though it looks kinda dull in the photo. Here's the sketch....still a little time to play along if you can.

Paper: Recollections Cardstock

A Belle Birthday

Hello. Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for Sophie's teacher, Ms. Crystal. She is seriously one of the nicest teachers at her school and a sweet, sweet person. We just found out that she is a Disney fan (whoot woo) and her favorite princess is Belle - so she ranks high on our list of super cool peeps.

I had this Belle image left over from Sophie's birthday cupcakes. I then used the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #318 (see below) and choose papers and colors that coordinated with Belle. The floral paper is from DCWV Fresh Floral Stack and has a slight vintage flair to it. I used some pink and brown ink to distress the edges and age it a bit.

The flowers were part of a $1 pack from Michael's. I really love finds like that, they don't cost much but yet they can be added to almost anything. Belle is on a polka dot tag with a yellow tag underneath for a shadow effect. I distressed the tag as well.

Here is the sketch...there's still a bit of time to play.

Have a great day....thanks for stopping by!

Happy Halloween

I picked up my Halloween candy yesterday for the 6 trick or treaters we get, LOL! We live in an older neighborhood and there's not that many kids. The first Halloween I counted 8 trick or treaters, was I disappointed.

This year with Sophie in school I get to have a little more fun, so we are going to decorate some goodie bags for cookies and candy. I'm sure e other parents will be thrilled!

Here's a fun Halloween card using Echo Parks Apothecary Emporium. Isn't that witch shilouette fun?  Its part of their sticker pack. I jazzed it up with a few purple rhinestones.

Here's a closer look. I layered purple ribbon on top of a black sheer ribbon with frilly, fringed edges. I don't know how to really describe it but its cool.

The stamp is from a Inkadinkado set, that's been my go to for Halloween. I love the little flourishes and font.

I'm linking this up with the following:

Enthralled with Fall

Yay fall is here! It's been foggy and chilly here and I love it. There are leaves on the ground waiting to be crunched (that's my favorite thing to do), we've been making pumpkin muffins and eating lots of apples. We've already been to the pumpkin patch too!

Speaking of leaves and fall, here is the gorgeous Tuesday Trigger-Enthralled with Fall over at the Moxie Fab World Blog.

Inspired by the colors of the leaves...the pinks, yellows and oranges I made this:

Sigh...I am in love with this card. I used My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing pink and white chevron cardstock and then fussy cut the flowers and hexagons with bees from another piece.  The yellow with polka dot background paper is from DCWV Fresh Floral Stack.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Vintage Verses (only available during the Sale-a-Bration earlier this year) and stamped in their Early Espresso. The striped yellow and white piece is from the tip top of the MME 6x6 paper pad...leave no scrap to waste!

I even dressed up the I side with more chevron paper and a fussy cut bee and hexagons grouping. The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping Hydrangea set.

To finish off the card I even dressed up the envelope. More DCWV yellow with white polka dot paper.

Happy Friday, thanks for stopping by! Hope you have an amazing weekend planned. It's off to a concert for my and DH!

Hooked on You

Happy Thursday. Well one month into school and Sophie is now sick. She's has a slight fever for the last two days, thankfully that's all. I'm hoping she will feel better tomorrow and that no one else gets it.

I was able to squeeze in a little card making and came up with this.  I used a sketch from the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #3. This is a new company with some super cute designs. I actually won this set during their grand opening release party a few months ago.

I colored this little guy with markers and then realized that I didn't have a brown marker for coloring. So I grab a q-tip, ink it up and colored him with that. It didn't turn out too horrible...but I am definitely getting a brown marker fr my collection.

Here's the sketch:

Happy Friday! Can you believe Fall is here? I'm so excited it's my favorite time of the year, even though our weather doesn't really change here in CA. I walked into a store the other day and it smelled delicious-I was looking around for a bakery, but they had those cinnamon scented broom sticks by the front door.  It made me laugh.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and today I'm celebrating with this beautiful card. The beauty is all from the paper...DCWV Autumn Melody. There is a Lot of shine and shimmer on this that the camera can not capture. My base layer is Kraft cardstock-trying to go for a rustic elegant look.

The orange ribbon is leftover from a friends wedding a few years ago. We used it to weave through a birdcage for envelopes. I have no idea where the big button is from, found it hiding in my button stash.

Here's the color inspiration from The Kraft Journal. Yay for fall!!

I Hear the Train a Comin'

Choo choo...okay so probably the wrong song for a 3 year old.  I made this fun card for a friends nephew and hopefully he likes trains.

The background paper is at least 3 years old and comes from a paper pack I bought at Target. It is the last of that design and I think it just shouts "party!".

The train and balloons were cut on my Cricut. I even popped up the blue balloon with some foam tape for extra pizazz  I love pizazz haha!

Thinking of You

Hello there and a happy Tuesday to you all! Just a quick post with some gorgeous cards (IMHO) that I put together this weekend.

See, told you they were gorgeous! LOL. I made these as a present for a friend but I'm having an extremely hard time letting them go. The birdcage was a $1 stamp at JoAnn's, I've used it before and just adore it. The sentiment and flowers are from PTI's Mini Blooms set. keep or give. Guess even if I keep them, I'll give them away sooner or later right? Decisions, decisions....

I'm linking up this classy set with the A Blog Named Hero #32 - Game, Set, Match Challenge.
Hoping your having a great day!
