Hello and a Happy Birthday Gift

Hi! Long time no blog...summer is in full swing here and finding time to craft has been a challenge, but that's okay. That's what summer is all about right?!

Today is my niece's 11th birthday. She's actually my BFF daughter, but my niece all the same. I was there minutes after she was born and she helped introduce DH and me, so she has a truly special place in my heart. She's a very talented and special young lady so no ordinary gift would do of course.

I decided to make her a journal/altered notebook. I wanted to keep it girly but since she is almost a teenager (gasp) I wanted it to have a mature look. I hope she fills it with stories, thoughts, doodles and dreams. Happy Birthday Cat!

I am linking this up with the Simon Says Stamp and Show "What Do You Say" challenge.

I am so proud to have also been picked as a Heroine over at A Blog Named Hero for their "Stretch Your Stamps" Challenge. Whoo Hoo!

Je t'aime Mon Ami

Ahhh...french. Everything french is so pretty and inspiring, don't you think? I do. Here is my version of french love...

Pretty isn't it? I think so and when I look at it I just kind of tilt my head and sigh....

I handstamped the background with a gorgeous vintage floral from Stampin' Up Fresh Vintage. The Effiel Tower and sentiment is from Tuesday Techniques Mon Ami set. Both of these stamp collections are two of my favorites!

Hope you are having an amazing summer...and staying cool!

I am linking up (and hoping for some love) with these wonderful challenges:

So maybe I've been hiding under a rock, but I just recently discovered The Craft's Meow Stamps. No really just last month in fact. LOL where have I been?

I am certainly happy I found them. Not only do they have awesome stamps and fun challenges but I also won one of their June release giveaways - Lovely Labels 14. I used one of the frames to highlight the house above.

I paper pieced the roof and windows on the house and then colored the house in with a blue gel pen. I added the brown pearls for a little hardware and pop. I've created a card similar to this one before here, but this time I think it came out much better!

This card is based off  The Craft's Meow July Sketch Challenge...there's still time to play!

I am also linking this up to the following challenges. Come join the fun!

A Berry Happy Birthday X 2

It's summer time! Time for nice ripe juicy strawberries straight off the vine...if you can get them before the dog does. Yup, my Diego is a berry eating dog...actually he'll eat just about anything except for lemons and pickles.

These two berry sweet cards are made from the same berry sweet stamp set from Paper and Such. I'll quit with the berry sweet now...haha.

This first card I used the stamp to create my own background. I stamped it in black ink and then colored in the leaves with green. I actually paper pieced the strawberries in to give it some dimension and texture. A little yellow coloring and glitter in the center of the flowers and this background is done.

For this card I stamped a single image of the stamp but did the same techniques to fill it in. Colored the leaves, paper pieced the strawberries and then added yellow rhinestones to the center of the flowers. A little burlap, more rhinestones and ribbon and this card is ready for giving.

I am linking up these two beauties with a few challenges:

Paper: Recollections, DCWV All Girls Stack (2nd card)
Stamp & Ink: Paper and Such & Recollections Black, Recollections Gel Pen
Cricut Cartridge: Sweethearts (frame)
Corner Punch: Fiskars
Rhinestones & Ribbon: Recollections & Offray
Burlap: Recycled from my cousins wedding favors

Bicycle Built for Two

Happy 4th of July! Hope you are all having a wonderful day. I have just a quick post today as we will be on our way out the door soon.

This little gem is linking up with the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge - use 2 Circles. Who doesn't like a bicycle built for two?

I cut the bicycle and hearts from Cricut's Sweethearts cartridge. Isn't it adorable?! Perfect for you and your lovely on a hot summer day.

I used a white gel pen to add the little dots to the hearts...gives them a little shine and movement.

Have a fun and safe 4th!

Hello Baby!

Happy *almost* 4th of July. I hope you have some fun plans for the 4th. We are going to relax, enjoy some BBQ and just hang out.

I found this fun paper at JoAnns in the clearance bin. Isn't it just adorable! It's perfect for that sweet little American baby boy...which is what my cousin is having in November. Guess where this card is going? LOL.

I fussy cut the little sailor suit and popped it up with foam tape to give it some dimension. I added the little red flag and stamped the "hello baby". There is so much going on with this print (lots of glitter accents) that all it needed was a little twine and glitter heart button and it was perfect.

I am entering this in the Red, White and Blue challenge over at Inspired by Stamping. This is a new challenge for me and if you haven't seen it before I advise you to stop by and have a look. Their stamps are gorgeous and they have beautiful paper flowers...they have made my short list of "Wants Right Now". Here is the inspiration photo...

I am also linking this up with the following challenges:

Paper: Recollections, Colorbox
Stamp and Ink: Stampin' Up
Twine: The Twinery
Button: My Stash (I'm sure it's from Michaels)
Adhesive: Scotch ATG and Recollections Foam Tape

Thanks Big Time - New Blog Design!

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to this week. We spent the day at the beach yesterday and had a blast!

I don't know if you noticed but I have a new blog design! I asked Natalie from Life {Made} Simple if she would take what I had and redesign it and I LOVE it! I have all the little buttons and gadgets now and I feel so professional! LOL Please stop by her blog and visit - she has some super yummy recipes including strawberry shortcake cookies and german chocolate cupcakes!

Now on to my card...this one is for the Play Date Cafe. The colors are Cotton Candy, Ruby, Citrus and Dusk. This one seemed difficult at first and then I pulled out my Stampin' Up inks and voila...

I really love these colors together...the dusk (grey for me) is so unexpected but I think it works well. All stamps and ink used are from Stampin' Up.

Here is the inspiration picture...isn't awesome?

I am also linking this up with the Stamp It! Cards Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. There's still time to play along with both challenges...
