A Sweet Thinking of You

Hi everyone...been thinking of you all lately. I've been super busy with life but I did manage to make this sweet little card.

I was going thru my scraps and found all these little pieces, you'd think I would throw them away but nope...just can't do it.

I love the mixture of the plaid, floral and polka dots. I don't know if you can see but I used ribbon again to make leaves for my little flowers.

Hope you are all doing just fine in blog land and enjoying the summer sun.

Paper: DCWV Fresh Floral Stack, Martha Stewart, Recollections Cardstock
Cricut: Sugar and Spice

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

Can you guess what cartoon that is from? LOL I'll tell you at the end =)

This card (and the inspiration photo below) does make me want to sing every time I look at it. It's so bright and colorful. I was inspired by the overall colors - pink, orange, yellow, green.

I used Echo Parks Hello Summer papers, though the green one is actually from my stash. I think I got it at Target a long time ago. I added some extra bling to the flowers with pink, green and orange rhinestones.

There is so much fun going on in this inspiration photo created by the Joy over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog- how could you not sing?

Anyone remember Ren & Stimpy? I loved it! It was a ridiculous cartoon on Nickelodeon back when they showed cool cartoons like the Rugrats.

Hope your Monday was amazing!

BFF Forever

I've only been blogging for a few months now but I am so surprised and giddy over the friends I've made. I can't really call any of them BFF's (yet) but the way lives, lessons and loves are shared in blog land - really everyone is your BFF right?

Here is my take on the Play Date Cafe Color Challenge. The colors are so gorgeous...raspberry (mmm...yum), blackberry (mmm...yum too) and azure (refreshing). I'd like to say that this card was so easy to put together and it only took me a few minutes but then I'd be lying to you lol. And BFF's do not lie to each other right?!

I went through all my paper to find the right colors. Blackberry - check. Raspberry - check again. Azure - (hey teal works right) - yup, check.

Okay so I may be the only one but....I did not know that paper companies made stamps too. This delightful saying and polka dot butterflies are from the My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline collection.

Here is the beautiful inspiration photo....man those berries look good! We have some visiting blackberry vines over our fence and there is nothing better than pulling off a warm ripe blackberry and sharing it...with the dog. HAHA no joke! My dog will even pull the unripen blackberries off the vine when he can reach them. As my little Sophie says "silly dog dog".
Have an amazing weekend! Thanks for stopping by =)

Classic Happy Birthday Card

I received the Classic Calico paper pack from one of my comment to win entries (thank you Cath and the fabulous Moxie Fab World) and though it's not something I would pick out, I have to say I am LOVING it!

The papers are classic with a modern and retro feel. Dots, chevron, hexagon patterns in cool black, brown, ivory, white and gold colors. Very monotone but also very versatile.

I made a card similar to this for a friend's fathers Fathers Day card. I love the style and design so much I decided to make another card just like it. The stamp is from Unity Stamp and I think it's darling. I used a tissue (so professional) and wipe the entire card with brown ink to give it a vintage feel.

I am linking this up with the following challenges:

Stamps: Unity Itty Bitty, TPC Studios

What I've been doing...

Where has the week gone? My goodness it's been awhile. Here's what I've been up too in case you were wondering...

I finished and delivered 100 wedding thank you cards for my friends wedding next week. Making these cards sure did zap my want to craft lol. I estimate it took me about 7 hours (not all in one day) of measuring, cutting, punching and stamping these little beauties. That's only 25 on the table by the way...

I made these amazingly tasty s'mores cupcakes...if you dare, the recipe can be found here. Yummy! Where are the pictures you ask? Well....these cupcakes don't last long enough to take pictures!

Heading out to a wedding this weekend so I made this sweet card with scraps from the thank you cards above. Nothing like using scraps right?

Speaking of scraps I sat down the other night and organized my scrap box by color. No joke! I even threw away (gasp) some paper that was incredibly small and (semi) silly to save. I tell you having an organized scrap box makes it easy to see what I have before I cut into more paper.

June 5 was my DH's grandmother birthday. She's been gone for almost a year now and I think about her often. I didn't know my own grandparents (on either side) so having her as my grandmother for almost 10 years was amazing. She was such a special women and I wish my little Sophie had gotten to know her.

We stopped by to see Grandma Marie and drop off a purple rose and a little banner. The picture isn't the best but it says "We {heart} You". I'm sure she was smiling down on us. =)

Hope your weekend is filled with fun and laughter. Maybe call a loved one and let them know your thinking of them. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Vintage Inspired

This probably isn't very vintage to some...maybe I'm using the word vintage wrong. Maybe it should be Victorian inspired? I'm not sure all I know is that it's soft, romantic, girly, feminine and oh so pretty.

I used papers from Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line as well as some scraps from Echo Parks Country Drive or Springtime...I also cut up a doily to add some "lace" to my banner.

I used a white gel pen to add a little faux stitch to the pink banner and to ink the edges of the blue banner. I also inked the edges with distress ink and turned up a little corner. I've seen the little up-turned corner on a few cards and thought is was super cute.

I am linking this up to the Moxie Fab Doily and Lace Challege.
And the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Adorable Deer

**This is my second post for today (crazy 2 days in a row, I know). You can find my first post here or scroll down**

Ah #4 in the Taylored Expressions Farewell Sketch Challenge. Darn, I was having so much fun =)
This little sweetie comes from the Create A Critter Cartridge. The pattern papers are from DCWV Nana's Nursery.

I don't think you can really see it but I used a white gel pen to add little dots around the circles. I didn't add an extra sentiment since the paper had all those sweet sentiments already. I didn't't want to cover them up, I wanted them to shine.

Here is the sketch. I am also linking this up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge-Anything Goes.

Fun and Funky Happy Birthday

A big thank you and welcome to my newest followers. I appreciate the following and hope I can inspire (and be inspired by) you. I also wanted to mention that I made the Fab4 over at the Play Date Cafe! I am so honored that my little Air Mail Card was so loved =)

This is the 3rd sketch in the Taylored Expression Farewell Sketch Challenge. To be honest this sketch threw me for a loop. I stared at it forever and ever and ever. It wasn't until I started going through my papers that this combination came to me and the lightbulb went off.

I used Echo Parks Hello Summer collection and I have to say they worked perfectly. I stamped the flowers, fussy cut them out and the used pop dots to give the little green one lift.

Here is the sketch. I am also linking this to the Simon Says Stamp Challenege-Anything Goes.
