A Way to Help...

The tragedy that took place Friday in CT has weighed on my mind and in my heart. I was looking for a way to help and get involved. Amber at Damask Love has come up with an amazing idea that I hope will help every child affected by this senseless tragedy.
It would be awesome if you would join us in helping these children and pass along the details of this amazing project. Amber has all the details on her blog here

Thank you.

Season's Greetings

Hello my friends! I hope your Thanksgiving (for those of you that celebrated) was amazing. I had to take some time off as I cook for about 30. Lots of work, but goodness so much fun. I LOVE it!

Speaking of loving things, Christmas is seriously just around the corner. I'm so excited, it'll be Sophie's 4th Christmas and I'm hoping it'll be one she remembers! I've decided to start a new tradition since we love to read so much. Starting on the 12th we are going to count down the 12 days until Christmas with a holiday book. So each night we will open and read a holiday/winter themed book. Hopefully she'll be just as excited as I am!

On to the card....i am in love with this little sweetie. I cut the card from Kraft cardstock and used a shimmery green snowflakes patterned cardstock as the backdrop. The little birdie and cage came from the April Showers Cricut cartridge.

The sentiment came from My Pink Stamper.  A little red and white twine bow and some rhinestones for bling, oh and a little faux stitching around the edges and that about does it for this one.

I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes and the Inspired by Stamping #37 photo challenge. Isn't the inspiration gorgeous?!

Thanks for stopping by and not giving up on me! With the holidays coming I don't know how much I'll be around, but I do my best to stay in touch with posts and comments!

Thankful for...

Hello friends!

I have so much to be thankful for. I am extremely thankful I have an amazingly loving husband and beautiful baby girl. I am thankful that I have friends who think of me, including some I've never met (wink, wink Colleen). I am thankful for all the big and little things in my life and I am so thankful that my little Sophie is almost potty trained. LOL yes, that's some of what I've been doing.

I made these for my friend Rosy. I am thankful that we have been friends for over 20 years! Since the 7th grade. She wanted them for her employees to thank them for all their hard work. She is seriously one of the sweetest people I know.

Thank you for stopping by my little blog and following (if you do). I am thankful for all the kind comments and thoughs you leave me.

What are you thankful for?

Happily Ever After

I love princess movies, I mean who doesn't right? Girl meets boy, falls in love, wears beautiful jewels and puffy dresses and lives happily ever after. Oh sure there's other stuff in between (misunderstood villian, fights, lost shoes) but I think I've hit all high points.

Having my little Sophie means I get to watch all my favorite princess movies and say it's because she wanted to. Haha it's so awesome!

The challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show is to use pearls. I took some olive green paper from MME's All About Girl Stack and layered it with pink cardstock. I used my Prima script paragraph stamp and stamped it with magenta ink and then used some distress ink to vintage it up a bit more.

I cut the 2 hearts on my cricut and popped up the white one with foam tape. The sentiment in from My Pink Stamper. To finish, pearls of course!

Thanks for stopping by...hoping all you folks on the East Coast are safe and damage is minimal.

Coffee for Two

Happy Saturday! I'm starting to craft and get creative again, I won't say all my mojo has returned but I'm feeling some of it dance it's way back.

I really loved the colors from this last Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger - Val de Victorian. It just made me happy - the soft lavender, pink and orange with a hint of brown. Isn't it pretty?

Here is my take on the trigger:

I layered brown, lavender and white cardstock together and rounded two opposite edges. I choose a "male" and "female" cup of coffee and separated them with a pink glitter heart brad.

I colored in the images with Sophie's Crayola colored pencils (gotta use what you have right?!). I also hand dotted a little pink border along the white cardstock which you can barely see. I used some foam tape under the sentiment to give it some lift over the twine.

The sentiment reads
"You're the cream in my coffee"
Pretty cute huh?!

Have an amazing weekend! Thanks for stopping by =)

Make A Wish...

If I could make a wish right now, I'd wish that I wasn't late in getting this in to The Play Date Cafe Anniversary Challenge. But I am.....figured I'd show it to you anyway because I really, really love it.

I stamped the background first with a script paragraph stamp from Prima. The birdcage is from the dollar bin at JoAnn's - such a great find for a $1. The flowers are from a Teresa Collins set and the sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping. Add a little bling and so pretty!

Thanks for stopping by, my mojo seems to be returning. It just needed a rest lol.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know right, already working on Thanksgiving?! It's a bit crazy but I love fall and even though we will are heading into a heat wave this week (my little coastal town is going to be in the 90's, gasp!) I couldn't help myself especially when given such a gorgeous palette and inspiration photo over at The Play Date Cafe.

I used cardstock from a discontinued collection by Stampin' Up. I roughed up the edges of the leafy paper with the edge of my scissors (cool trick but I'm sure my scissors hate it lol). The tree stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and the sentiment from Stampin' Up.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Isn't it beautiful? I love the colors of fall though I don't see it often here in California, one day I'll make it back East and jump in a pile of leaves!

This is being added to the wonderful entries at The Play Date Cafe Challenge #151 and the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

Jar of Tiny Hearts

Here is the last card in my set of mason jar notecards.  You can view the other cards by clicking here and scrolling down. This last sweet mason jar is also from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper collection.

Sweet little hearts are captured in this cute mini mason jar so I based my design around this. The yellow polka dot and green grid paper are all from the Neapolition collection. I popped up the jar with some foam tape and added natural twine and buttons as well as some stamped and fussy cut hearts.

To give the card a bit of vintage-shabby chic look I faux stitched the edges of the card. The sentiment, again, is from the Baby Basics set from Market Street Stamps-seriously great font!

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment, it really means a lot.

Have an amazing weekend!

Jar of Stars

Here is the third card in my set of mason jar notecards.  You can veiw the first one here and the second one here or just scroll down. This sweet mason jar is also from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper collection.

This third mason jar I used had stars in it. I popped it up on a yellow flower then added a few buttons to surround it. The green grid and light grey chevron pattern paper is also from the Neapolitan collection.

To give the card a bit of country chic look I faux-stitched the edges of the card and tag with brown ink. I also used natural twine and made a bow, then added some fussy cut stars to finish. The sentiment and stars are from the Baby Basics set from Market Street Stamps-seriously great set!

I am linking this up with the Moxie Fab World Jars of Joy Challenge...there's plenty of time to play along! I'll have one more card to show you...hope you like it.

Jar of Flowers

Here is the second card in my set of mason jar notecards, you can see the first card here. This sweet mason jar is from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper collection.
This second mason jar I used had flowers in it so I just accented the centers with small rhinestones and then popped it up with some foam tape on a small pink tag. The light grey chevron pattern paper is also from the Neapolitan collection.

To give the card a bit of vintage-shabby chic look I inked the edges of the card and tag with brown ink. I also used olive green organza ribbon and made a bow, then added some punched butterflies to finish. A sweet clean and simple thank you.  The sentiment, again, is from the Baby Basics set from Market Street Stamps-seriously great font!

Jar of Hearts

Mason jars are all the rage right now and it's only a matter of time before I break down and buy a set of mason jar stamps, but until then I have been playing with the adorable mason jars from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper collection.

I am making a set of thank you note cards with these jars, which I cut out individually from the 6x6 pad. This first mason jar I used had a heart on it, so I added  a glittery pink heart brad over that heart to give it some flair and the popped up with some foam tape. The rose pattern paper is also from the Neapolitan collection.

I also used a little scrap of lace doily, some pink buttons, olive green organza ribbon and tied a twine jute bow. Finished it off with three pearls in the corner and done. Looks a little shabby chic don't you think? The sentiment is from Baby Basics set from Market Street Stamps-seriously great font!

Market Street Stamps Block Party

Happy Saturday! Hope your enjoying your weekend. Here's a quick post and card for the Market Street Stamps Block Party.

This sweet bear is from the Baby Basics set. I stamped him on Kraft cardstock and then pieced the white patches from white cardstock. The congratulations and stars are all from the same collection as well...it's super cute!

Sorry for the dark picture....was expermenting with taking pictures at night in my homemade light box can't say it turned out well haha. Have an amazing rest of your weekend!

Relax, Enjoy...

Summer is coming to an end and I can already feel the air getting cooler...on some days. LOL it's still nice and warm here in CA!

Have you seen the Coconut Cove stamp set from Taylored Expressions? It's got just the right feel for this California girl and here is a little lovely I made with it...

The blue striped cardstock is super old and I really have no clue where it's from, sorry. I hand tore the white cardstock and I used Tim Holtz's Distress Markers to color everything in. Four silver-brass pearls add the finishing touches.

I love the look and feel of this card! I am linking this up with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Put a Stamp on It.

Everyone should just relax and enjoy...have a wonderful Sunday!

Time for Tea

Hope you are having an amazing weekend! Thank you for stopping by my little blog to see this sweet creation, I am playing along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. It's really darling and I loved the colors and patterns the little pin cushion has so that is what inspired my card.

I started with a rich chocolate base and then cut 1 inch strips of patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection (uber adorable!). The bottom is a strip of paper lace courtesy of the Martha Stewart doily lace punch.

The die cut frame is from Cricut's Sweethearts cartridge (my go-to frame by the way). I paper pieced the teacup stamp by stamping it once on the white cardstock and then stamping it again on my patterned cardstock. Fussy cut the cut part and voila - pretty patterned paper china cup.

She is Art

Happy September or STAMPtember if you are following the Simon Says Stamp Blog. I wish I could say I've been super busy stamping, crafting and creating, but I haven't. LOL. Ive actually been catching up on some summer reading, some (very little) fall housecleaning and hanging out with my sweet Sophie.

I did however, create this altered journal/notebook using Pink Paislee's She Art collection. Have you seen it? It's FAB-ulous! Its girly yet grungy, beautiful and messy, classy artsy with a little subway twist.

I started with a regular composition notebook and started layering cardstock. The collection has some really cool dress pattern paper-really slick and crinkly. It's hidden in there for some texture. This faceless girl was cut from the back of one of the packages. I simply love her! The "be you" was stamped from a Tuesday Technique set and I think it fits this perfectly.

I hand tore one of the layers and fussy cut the roses. The top right hand corner has a grid rub-on and I used black ink and smudge it everywhere to give it more of a grunge feel. A few pearls and rhinestones add the classy finishing touches.

I have to say I'm rather proud of this little notebook. It's not a style I lean towards, but it was so freeing and fun to create. It is something I look forward to exploring and creating more of!

Thanks So Much

I've been making thank you cards for all the gifts my little Sophie got for her 3rd birthday. This one is going to her Great Grandma. She's pretty lucky to have 3 Great Grandparents, though sadly we only see one (the other 2 live in Florida). Since I've been making so many thank you cards, I went clean and simple on this one.

I used the challenge colors (pink, cream and green) and the Little Flowers stamp set from Inspired by Stamping. They have some really adorable stamps and super reasonable shipping for being based out of Australia. You should shop...they are having a sale but it ends August 31!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Baby

Hi crafty friends! Goodness it's been quite a while. Just took a little time off to celebrate birthdays and enjoy the rest of summer with family and friends.

I recently won the Baby Basics stamp set from Market Street Stamps during their release party and I was so excited to ink it up. It is an adorable set and I can see many a cards being created from it!

I made this one for the CAS-ual Fridays Banner Card Challenge. The little ducky toy is from the Baby Basics Set. Isn't he just the cutest?

The banner gets some lift from foam adhesive. The posts are actually strips of scrap kraft paper!

Hope you are enjoying the rest of summer and cooling off. Have an amazing weekend!

Happy Birthday

August is a busy birthday month for us. We celebrate my mom's birthday, DH's birthday, an Aunt and Uncle birthdays, a nephew's birthday and my little Sophies's birthday. My sweet pea will be 3 this year and I don't even know where the time has gone.

I've been busy trying to get everything together for our family BBQ birthday (we lump them all together) so I haven't had much time to create. I did manage to make this Happy Birthday card for my DH using the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger for my inspiration.

This card is very simple but the colors really make it pop. The balloons are all lifted with foam tape, like they are ready to fly away...

Here is the inspiration photo. I love the black with pops of bold colors, that's what inspired my card the most.

Have an amazing weekend, I know will!

Snowflakes in August

No it's not actually snowing...though as I type this we are having a very strange and unexpected summer storm complete with thunder! Very exciting since we generally have only sunny days here in Cali.

I had this card in my head for awhile and finally stamped it out. I used Stampin' Up's Serene Snowflakes and I think they are gorgeous. I stamped my sentiment, then masked it with a post it note and then stamped the snowflakes. This is my first time masking and I don't think I did too bad a job. LOL.

I added some bling with rhinestone centers on the large snowflakes and glitter glue on the small snowflakes. Now everything shines!

Sweet Pea

There seems to be an abundance of little baby boys coming this year and as cute as they are I am all about girls! Must be because I have such a darling little one to call my own =)

I started this card awhile ago and just couldn't figure out how to finish it. The paper was darling I didn't really want to cover it up so I compromised and only cover part of it.

The adorable little sweet pea is from Cricut's New Arrival cartridge. I outlined the eyes and smile with a black marker on the backside so it would only faintly show. I also added glitter glue to the centers of the flowers and the peas with hearts on them...

Hello and a Happy Birthday Gift

Hi! Long time no blog...summer is in full swing here and finding time to craft has been a challenge, but that's okay. That's what summer is all about right?!

Today is my niece's 11th birthday. She's actually my BFF daughter, but my niece all the same. I was there minutes after she was born and she helped introduce DH and me, so she has a truly special place in my heart. She's a very talented and special young lady so no ordinary gift would do of course.

I decided to make her a journal/altered notebook. I wanted to keep it girly but since she is almost a teenager (gasp) I wanted it to have a mature look. I hope she fills it with stories, thoughts, doodles and dreams. Happy Birthday Cat!

Je t'aime Mon Ami

Ahhh...french. Everything french is so pretty and inspiring, don't you think? I do. Here is my version of french love...

Pretty isn't it? I think so and when I look at it I just kind of tilt my head and sigh....

I handstamped the background with a gorgeous vintage floral from Stampin' Up Fresh Vintage. The Effiel Tower and sentiment is from Tuesday Techniques Mon Ami set. Both of these stamp collections are two of my favorites!

Hope you are having an amazing summer...and staying cool!

Home

So maybe I've been hiding under a rock, but I just recently discovered The Craft's Meow Stamps. No really just last month in fact. LOL where have I been?

I am certainly happy I found them. Not only do they have awesome stamps and fun challenges but I also won one of their June release giveaways - Lovely Labels 14. I used one of the frames to highlight the house above.

I paper pieced the roof and windows on the house and then colored the house in with a blue gel pen. I added the brown pearls for a little hardware and pop. I've created a card similar to this one before here, but this time I think it came out much better!

This card is based off  The Craft's Meow July Sketch Challenge...there's still time to play!

I am also linking this up to the following challenges. Come join the fun!

A Berry Happy Birthday X 2

It's summer time! Time for nice ripe juicy strawberries straight off the vine...if you can get them before the dog does. Yup, my Diego is a berry eating dog...actually he'll eat just about anything except for lemons and pickles.

These two berry sweet cards are made from the same berry sweet stamp set from Paper and Such. I'll quit with the berry sweet now...haha.

This first card I used the stamp to create my own background. I stamped it in black ink and then colored in the leaves with green. I actually paper pieced the strawberries in to give it some dimension and texture. A little yellow coloring and glitter in the center of the flowers and this background is done.

For this card I stamped a single image of the stamp but did the same techniques to fill it in. Colored the leaves, paper pieced the strawberries and then added yellow rhinestones to the center of the flowers. A little burlap, more rhinestones and ribbon and this card is ready for giving.

I am linking up these two beauties with a few challenges:

Paper: Recollections, DCWV All Girls Stack (2nd card)
Stamp & Ink: Paper and Such & Recollections Black, Recollections Gel Pen
Cricut Cartridge: Sweethearts (frame)
Corner Punch: Fiskars
Rhinestones & Ribbon: Recollections & Offray
Burlap: Recycled from my cousins wedding favors
